<p>igus offers Delta robots for a wide variety of tasks. The 3-axis Delta LCA-DR1000-03 was specially developed for fast pick & place tasks and is optionally available with a suitable controller. With a reach of 1,000 mm and a pick rate of 96 picks/minute, it sets new standards for cost-effective automation. The combination of precision and speed makes this robot ideal for end-of-line applications. </p>

The weight of an end effector will decrease the available payload of your robot.

In this particular customer application, the task was to transport snail shells to various positions within a cycle time defined by the customer. The main challenge was selecting an appropriate end effector, as the snail shells needed to remain undamaged throughout the process.

After careful consideration and analysis of the requirements, the decision was made to use a SoftGripper. This type of gripper is characterized by its flexibility and adaptability, allowing it to conform to the shape of the delicate snail shells. This not only ensures safe transportation but also minimizes the risk of damage.

The choice of the SoftGripper was crucial for the success of the application, as conventional grippers, due to their rigid structure, would not have been able to handle the fragile snail shells without causing damage. By using the SoftGripper, the required cycle time could be met while preserving the integrity of the snail shells.

In this video, we present an advanced solution for downstream sprue separation of clip bearings in injection molding production. The application utilizes a Delta robot system, IRC, rotary conveyor, an igus vacuum gripper with rotation unit, and a Zimmer gripper to optimize the process and increase efficiency.

The setup of the Delta robot and the integration of the IRC are shown, as well as the operation of the rotary conveyor and the camera for precise detection and separation of sprues. The igus vacuum gripper with rotation unit is demonstrated in action, handling the clip bearings safely and efficiently. As part of a customer test in the Customer Testing Area of igus in Cologne, a test setup was realized for a customer. The aim of the test was to evaluate the pick-and-place process for the food industry. Specifically, the aim was to pick and place mushrooms from the conveyor belt. This video presents a customer test setup in which small components are moved on a conveyor belt in a robot cell. At the beginning of the video, we see how the small components are placed on the conveyor belt. They are then transported into the robot cell. A camera strategically placed in the cell recognizes the exact position of the parts on the belt. Once the camera has captured the coordinates of the parts, this information is passed on to a delta robot mounted on top. This robot is equipped with a pneumatic rotary gripper that grips the parts precisely. The delta robot then moves, controlled by the coordinates provided by the camera, and always places the parts in the same orientation. This process demonstrates the precision and efficiency of the robot cell when handling small components. In summary, this video is an excellent representation of the application of modern robot technology in manufacturing and assembly. It shows how efficient and accurate handling of small components can be achieved through the use of cameras, delta robots and pneumatic rotary grippers.

As soon as the robot has picked up a component, it moves quickly and efficiently to another area where it places the component. This process is repeated over and over again, with the robot always maintaining the same high performance and accuracy.

In summary, the igus Delta robot, in combination with the Cobot pump, offers an efficient and precise solution for handling components in an industrial environment. The machine works tirelessly and accurately, leading to improved productivity and efficiency.

RBTX was requested to perform a customer test using a 3-axis Delta robot. The aim of the test is to demonstrate how the robot picks up a part from one linear axis and then places it safely on another linear axis.

The seamless interaction between the linear axes and the robot allows parts to be moved efficiently from one position to another. The possibilities of advanced technology and innovative machines in the industry to optimize work processes and increase productivity are displayed by the success of the test.

It is impressive to see how such robots can handle complex tasks and work precisely. This test video serves as an example of how the latest robot technology can be used to improve the efficiency and quality of production processes.
